==Biography==
He was born in Paw Paw, Illinois on December 18, 1916.〔(AnnArbor.com )〕〔(Archives )〕〔(Michigan Daily )〕〔(memorial )〕 In 1934, he received a B.A. from Beloit College, and an LLB from the Law School at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1941.〔〔

He died in Ann Arbor, Michigan in January 2010.〔
